महाकुंभ भारतीय संस्कृति की गहराई और समृद्धि को दर्शाता है। मकर संक्रांति के दिन का अमृत स्नान शुभता और सकारात्मकता लाने का माध्यम माना जाता है। सूर्य को समर्पित इस पर्व पर श्रद्धालुओं ने संगम के पवित्र जल में स्नान कर पुण्य अर्जित करते हैं। स्नान के बाद तट पर ही तिल, खिचड़ी और अन्य पूजन सामग्रियों के साथ सूर्य को अर्घ्य दिया जाता है। तिल और खिचड़ी का दान कर श्रद्धालुओं ने धर्म का पालन करते हुए शुभता और मोक्ष की कामना करते हैं।

मकर संक्रांति पर क्या होता है दान का महत्व
मकर संक्रांति पर स्नान और दान के बाद सूर्यदेव के 12 नामों का जाप और उनके मंत्रों का उच्चारण जीवन की कई समस्याओं को समाप्त कर सकता है. यह मंत्र जाप सूर्य देव की कृपा पाने का उत्तम साधन है। तिल और गुड़ का दान पापों का नाश और पुण्य लाभ प्रदान करता है। नमक का दान बुरी ऊर्जा और अनिष्टों का नाश करता है। खिचड़ी का दान चावल और उड़द की दाल की खिचड़ी दान करने से अक्षय फल प्राप्त होता है। घी और रेवड़ी का दान भौतिक सुख, मान-सम्मान और यश प्राप्त होता है। पक्षियों को दाना और जानवरों को भोजन: यह कर्म अत्यधिक फलदायी माना जाता है.

अमृत स्नान का धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व
महाकुंभ के दौरान कुछ विशेष तिथियों पर होने वाले स्नान को "अमृत स्नान" कहा जाता है। इस नाम के पीछे विशेष महत्व और सांस्कृतिक पृष्ठभूमि है। माना जाता है कि नागा साधुओं को उनकी धार्मिक निष्ठा के कारण सबसे पहले स्नान करने का अवसर दिया जाता है। वे हाथी, घोड़े और रथ पर सवार होकर राजसी ठाट-बाट के साथ स्नान करने आते हैं। इसी भव्यता के कारण इसे अमृत स्नान (अमृत स्नान )नाम दिया गया है। एक अन्य मान्यता के अनुसार, प्राचीन काल में राजा-महाराज भी साधु-संतों के साथ भव्य जुलूस लेकर स्नान के लिए निकलते थे। इसी परंपरा ने अमृत स्नान (अमृत स्नान) की शुरुआत की। इसके अलावा यह भी मान्यता है कि महाकुंभ का आयोजन सूर्य और गुरु जैसे ग्रहों की विशिष्ट स्थिति को ध्यान में रखकर किया जाता है, इसलिए इसे "राजसी स्नान" भी कहा जाता है। यह स्नान आध्यात्मिक शुद्धि और मोक्ष प्राप्ति का मार्ग है। महाकुंभ भारतीय समाज के लिए न केवल धार्मिक बल्कि सांस्कृतिक दृष्टि से भी बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है। इसमें अमृत स्नान (अमृत स्नान) के साथ मंदिर दर्शन, दान-पुण्य और अन्य धार्मिक अनुष्ठान किए जाते हैं।

1.5 crore devotees expected to take a holy dip at Sangam on Paush Purnima

The 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, celebrated as the largest gathering on Earth, commenced January 13 on the occasion of Paush Purnima. An estimated 1.5 crore devotees are expected to take a holy dip at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, under stringent security measures.

According to news agency ANI, the event begins with the ‘Shahi Snan’ on Paush Purnima, marking a rare celestial alignment that occurs only once every 144 years. Devotees have gathered in massive numbers at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the three rivers, to participate in this auspicious ritual.

The Mahakumbh Mela will conclude on February 26, with significant bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) planned on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).

• CM Yogi Adityanath's Statement: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the importance of Maha Kumbh 2025, describing it as a rare chance for people worldwide to experience the cultural and spiritual richness of Uttar Pradesh and India.
• Grand yagya by Namami Gange: The Namami Gange team organised a large-scale 'yagya' at the Sangam on Sunday, the eve of Maha Kumbh. Over 200 Ganga Sevadoots and thousands of others participated, pledging to preserve the Ganga's purity and flow. The event also recognized India's youth for contributing to the Ganga Swachhata Abhiyan.
• Safety measures: National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams and Uttar Pradesh Police’s water police units have been stationed to ensure the safety of devotees as the ‘Shahi Snan’ commenced on Paush Purnima, marking the start of Maha Kumbh 2025.
• Traffic arrangements: Traffic police have devised extensive plans to manage vehicular flow and ensure the safety of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
• QR code installation: Over 50,000 QR codes are being plastered on electricity poles across 25 sectors of the Maha Kumbh Mela. These will help pilgrims identify their locations and lodge complaints about electricity-related issues.
• Helicopter joyride: The cost of helicopter rides for an aerial view of Maha Kumbh has been reduced to Rs 1,296 per person. The 7–8 minutes rides, starting January 13, will offer tourists a unique perspective of the expansive Kumbh area and Prayagraj city.
• Hospitals along NH-19: Three hospitals have been established at Aurai, Gopiganj, and Unj police stations on National Highway (NH) 19 in Bhadohi district for devotees traveling to Maha Kumbh. These facilities will become fully operational on January 14, according to Superintendent of Police, Bhadohi, Abhimanyu Manglik.

महाकुंभ 2025 का शुभारंभ, श्रद्धालुओं ने किया पौष पूर्णिमा का पहला स्‍नान

13 जनवरी पौष पूर्णिमा से महाकुंभ का शुभारंभ हो रहा है। इसके बाद 14 जनवरी को मकर संक्रांति का स्नान पर्व होगा जो कि पहला अमृत स्नान होगा। 29 जनवरी को मौनी अमावस्या को दूसरा अमृत स्नान होगा। महाकुंभ 2025 का आरंभ दुनिया भर के लाखों श्रद्धालुओं के लिए एक ऐतिहासिक अवसर बन गया है। 144 वर्षों के लंबे इंतजार के बाद, प्रयागराज में यह भव्य धार्मिक आयोजन शुरू हुआ, जहां लाखों लोग एक साथ पुण्य की डुबकी लगाने पहुंचे। यह अवसर न केवल भारत में बल्कि विदेशों से भी श्रद्धालुओं के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण अनुभव साबित हो रहा है। हरियाली और उमंग के बीच, संगम के किनारे इस आयोजन की दिव्यता का गवाह बनने के लिए हर कोई तत्पर है।

कल्पवासियों का स्नान और संकल्प
महाकुंभ के पहले दिन ही कल्पवासी संगम में स्नान कर कल्पवास के कठिन नियमों का पालन करने के लिए संकल्पित हुए। ये लोग पुण्य प्राप्ति, सद्गति और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति के लिए प्रार्थना कर रहे हैं। साथ ही, उन्होंने अपने परिवार के कल्याण और संपूर्ण विश्व की भलाई के लिए भी आशीर्वाद लिया। सोमवार को महादेव की उपासना के साथ इस स्नान के अवसर को और भी विशेष बना दिया गया। 144 साल बाद दुर्लभ संयोग में रविवार की आधी रात संगम पर पौष पूर्णिमा की प्रथम डुबकी के साथ महाकुंभ का शुभारंभ हुआ। विपरीत विचारों, मतों, संस्कृतियों, परंपराओं स्वरूपों का गंगा, यमुना और अदृश्य सरस्वती की त्रिवेणी के तट पर महामिलन 45 दिन तक चलेगा। इस अमृतमयी महाकुंभ में देश-दुनिया से 45 करोड़ श्रद्धालुओं, संतों-भक्तों, कल्पवासियों और अतिथियों के डुबकी लगाने का अनुमान है।

कुंभ का पौराणिक महत्व
ऐसा माना जाता है जब बृहस्पति कुंभ राशि और सूर्य मेष राशि में प्रवेश करता है, तब कुंभ लगता है। त्रिवेणी संगम के कारण प्रयाग का महाकुंभ सभी मेलों में ज्यादा महत्व रखता है। कहा जाता है कि देवताओं और राक्षसों के बीच समुद्र मंथन के दौरान 14वें रत्न के रूप में अमृत कलश निकला था, जिसे हासिल करने के लिए उनमें संघर्ष हुआ। असुरों से अमृत बचाने के लिए भगवान विष्णु ने विश्व मोहिनी रूप धारण कर वह अमृत कलश अपने वाहन गरुड़ को दे दिया। असुरों ने गरुड़ से वह कलश छीनने का प्रयास किया तो अमृत की कुछ बूंदें प्रयागराज, नासिक, हरिद्वार और उज्जैन में गिर गईं। कहा जाता है कि तब से हर 12 साल बाद इन स्थानों पर कुंभ मेला आयोजित किया जाता है।

144 सालों बाद आया यह शुभ मुहूर्त
महाकुम्भ में आस्था और आधुनिकता का अद्भुत संगम होगा, जो न केवल हर व्यक्ति के जीवन में खुशहाली लाएगा, बल्कि यह उदाहरण बनेगा कि कैसे आस्था और विकास एक साथ आगे बढ़ सकते हैं। कुंभ चार प्रकार के होते हैं। पहला कुंभ साधारण कुंभ होता है। दूसरा कुंभ अर्ध कुंभ होता है। तीसरा कुंभ पूर्ण कुंभ होता है। चौथा तथा सबसे महत्वपूर्ण कुंभ महाकुंभ होता है। अर्ध कुंभ 6 साल में एक बार, पूर्ण कुंभ 12 साल में एक बार और महाकुंभ 144 साल में एक बार आता है। प्रयागराज में महाकुंभ का पहला स्नान 13 जनवरी 2025 को है। स्नान का यह सिलसिला 26 फरवरी 2025 तक चलेगा। उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में इस महाकुंभ के मेले में 40 करोड़ लोगों के आने का अनुमान है।

Maha Kumbh to drive economic growth of up to Rs 2 lakh crore: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said with an expected turnout of 40 crore devotees this year, the Maha Kumbh is projected to generate up to Rs 2 lakh crore in economic growth.

Speaking at the 'Divine Uttar Pradesh: The Must Visit Sacred Journey' conclave organised by a prominent media group, Adityanath acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "inspiring the nation to embrace its heritage with pride", according to an official statement.

Sharing the economic impact of the Maha Kumbh, the CM said the 2019 event contributed Rs 1.2 lakh crore to the state's economy. With an expected turnout of 40 crore devotees this year, the Maha Kumbh is projected to generate up to Rs 2 lakh crore in economic growth, he said.

Adityanath revealed that 2024 has already seen over 16 crore devotees visiting Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi and more than 13.55 crore devotees in Ayodhya from January to September.

The chief minister said Maha Kumbh Mela, set to take place from January 13 to February 26, will elevate India's ancient cultural and religious traditions to global prominence.

Noting the spiritual and societal importance of the Maha Kumbh, he stated that the event is not just a religious gathering but a symbol of social and spiritual unity. He described the Maha Kumbh as the world's largest temporary city, expected to accommodate between 50 lakhs to one crore devotees at any given time.

He said the people of the state are privileged to showcase India's profound spiritual heritage to the world through the upcoming Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and said those who take pride in the legacy of foreign invaders will never understand its grandeur.

He noted that under PM Modi's vision, India's spiritual roots are being celebrated on a global scale. Adityanath described the Maha Kumbh as a monumental spiritual event and said it is a grand, divine and digitally advanced gathering, where faith and modernity converge.

He outlined that the central and state governments, with the support from "revered" saints, have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the Maha Kumbh.

"This will be a model of modernity," he assured, highlighting the focus on environmental sustainability, including the prevention of sewage from flowing into the Ganga and Yamuna rivers.

From Shankar Mahadevan to Mohit Chauhan — headline performers at Maha Kumbh

Shankar Mahadevan will perform on the opening day while Mohit Chauhan will conclude the event with his soulful music. Several acclaimed artistes, including Kailash Kher, Shaan Mukherjee, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kavita Seth, Hariharan, Bickram Ghosh, Malini Awasthi, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, Shovana Narayan, Dr L Subramaniam, and many others, will perform at the event, said the Ministry of Culture in a release.

The Ganga Pandal at the mela grounds will showcase performances featuring classical dance, folk music, and dramatic arts. These performances aim to tell stories of devotion, faith, and India's cultural heritage, providing devotees and visitors with both a spiritual and artistic experience.

Other notable performances include Hariharan (February 10), Kailasa's Kailash Kher (February 23), and the grand finale by Chauhan (February 24).

Several Bollywood celebrities are also expected to attend the event while taking a holy dip at Sangam. Among the stars anticipated to attend are Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anup Jalota, Renuka Shahane, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari, Akshara Singh, and others.

Adani Group partners with Gita Press for ‘Sanatan Sahitya Seva’ in Maha Kumbh

Adani Group has collaborated with Gita Press for free distribution of one crore copies of “Aarti Sangrah” among the devotees at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj this year.

The book, a collection of devotional hymns or aartis, is published by Gita Press and the initiative will be part of Sanatan Sahitya Seva. Representatives of Gita Press, an organisation dedicated to the objective of preserving, promoting and spreading Indian culture, met Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad on Friday.

The Chairman said, “Maha Kumbh is the great yagya of Indian culture and religious faith. It is a matter of immense pleasure for us that in this Mahayagya, in collaboration with the prestigious institution Gita Press, we are offering one crore copies of ‘Aarti Sangrah’ free of cost to the devotees coming to Kumbh. Today, I got inspiration from the respected officials of Gita Press who have been serving the nation for 100 years through Sanatan Sahitya and I got the privilege of expressing my gratitude for the excellent service of Gita Press. The feeling of selfless service and responsibility towards religion and culture is a form of patriotism, to which we all are committed. Seva is meditation, seva is prayer and seva is God.”

Gita Press, committed to the service of Sanatan Dharma, completed its 100 years in 2023. Speaking about the collaboration with the Adani Group, Gita Press representatives said they have utmost respect for every institution working with a sacred spirit.

Maha Kumbh 2025 2025: Adani Group partners with ISKCON for ‘Mahaprasad Seva'

The Adani Group and the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) have joined hands to serve meals to devotees at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj this year, according to PTI.

The Mahaprasad Seva will be offered for the entire 45-day duration of the Maha Kumbh Mela, from January 13 to February 26.

On Thursday, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani met Guru Prasad Swami, the Chairman of ISKCON Governing Body Commission (GBC), and lauded the religious organisation for its noble deed.

Adani weighed in on ISKCON's support in offering the Mahaprasad Seva. He said, “Kumbh is a sacred place of seva, where every devotee gets involved in the name of seva to God. It is my good fortune that we are starting the 'Mahaprasad Seva' for the devotees at the Maha Kumbh in collaboration with ISKCON.

"With the blessings of Maa Annapurna, free food will be provided to lakhs of devotees. Today, I got the opportunity to meet Guru Prasad Swami ji of ISKCON and I deeply experienced the power of dedication towards seva. In the true sense, seva is the highest form of patriotism. Seva is meditation, seva is prayer and seva is God."

Guru Prasad Swami, one of the leading preachers of ISKON, said, "The Adani Group has always been a shining example of corporate responsibility and social service. What makes Gautam Adani ji outstanding is his humility — he never waits to be called but moves forward to serve selflessly. We are extremely grateful for his contribution. His work inspires us to give back to society and unite in the service of humanity."

The Mahaprasad Seva will be offered to 50 lakh devotees and the meals will be prepared in two kitchens in and outside the mela area.

The Mahaprasad will be distributed at 40 places in the Maha Kumbh area and 2,500 volunteers will be involved in this initiative.

Golf carts have been arranged for the differently abled, elderly, and mothers with children. Five lakh copies of Geeta Saar will also be distributed among the devotees.
