Shankar Mahadevan Regales Audience with 'Chalo Kumbh Chale' Performance

The air at Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj was electrified on 16 January as renowned playback singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan captivated thousands with his soulful performance, moneycontrol.com reported. The event was part of a grand cultural programme, “Sanskriti Ka Sangam”, organised by the Department of Culture at the Ganga Pandal.

Mahadevan began the evening with a heartfelt rendition of “Chalo Kumbh Chale”, a song that perfectly captured the devotion and grandeur of the sacred gathering. The performance resonated with the audience, creating an atmosphere of spiritual harmony. Mahadevan offered a powerful rendition of “Ganesh Vandana”.

The event was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the evening.

Mahadevan expressed his gratitude for being part of such a significant event. "It is an honour to participate in Maha Kumbh 2025," he said, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their vision in making the festival a grand celebration of India's spiritual and cultural heritage.

The Ganga Pandal will host nightly cultural programmes until 24 February, showcasing performances by renowned artistes, including Kailash Kher, Kavita Seth, Nitin Mukesh, Suresh Wadkar, Hariharan, and Kavita Krishnamurthy.
