Gautam Adani Pledges Aid In The Wake of Maha Kumbh Stampede Tragedy

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani expressed deep sorrow over the tragic stampede at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on 29 January. Offering his sympathies to the affected devotees’ families, Adani pledged support and offered collaboration with officials for relief.

In a message shared on X, Adani pledged the Adani Group's commitment to helping those affected, in coordination with local authorities and the UP state government.

Adani described the incident as “heart-wrenching” and emphasised the group’s determination to provide maximum support. “We are deeply saddened by the heart-wrenching incident that occurred at Maha Kumbh. We pay our humble tributes to the departed souls and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” his message said. The unfortunate incident occurred on the auspicious Mauni Amavasya when millions of devotees gathered for a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu have also expressed their sympathies and commitment to ensuring support for the affected individuals and their families.
